The Ceramic Art Process

All the pieces are indidually handcrafted in the North East of England. They represent weeks (and sometimes months) of research, preparatory drawings, initial models and final renditions. The item is then hand-crafted, then air dried and then specially kiln fired.
It takes 2 days for the kiln to reach the top temperature of over 1000 degrees celcius. Then another day and a half to cool. Some items require two firings - one for the clay, then cooling followed by another firing for the speciality glazings.
The sculpture is then checked, any finishings applied before careful packing, ready for delivery by courier.
